What is a physical stock ticker display?
A physical stock ticker is a dedicated screen that shows market prices. A desk stock ticker puts that information beside your workspace, so you can glance at a watchlist without opening an app or switching browser tabs.
It can be useful when you want a quick check during the day but do not need a full charting dashboard in front of you. A compact display leaves your main monitor available for the work you are doing.
How does DeskTicker work?
DeskTicker connects directly to Wi-Fi, retrieves market data, and refreshes the prices on its screen. After setup, a phone or computer does not need to stay connected. The device is USB-C powered.
Add symbols with the on-screen keyboard, then choose either a static view that cycles between assets or a scrolling view that moves several assets across the screen. The setup and controls guide explains the watchlist tools and display settings.
Which stocks can it display?
You add stocks by ticker symbol. DeskTicker checks each symbol online before saving it, so use the symbol for the asset you want to follow rather than its full company name.
Support depends on the available market data; entering a symbol does not guarantee it is supported. If a particular stock or fund is essential to your watchlist, ask about it before purchasing. The same support form lets owners report missing or unrecognized assets.
What information appears on the screen?
The screen shows the asset name or symbol, its current market price, and daily percentage change. Green and red help you read the direction of movement at a glance. You can rename assets, change their order, and adjust how the display moves between them.
Automatic refreshing makes the display convenient for check-ins. A refresh interval is separate from the timing of the underlying market data: the site does not specify exchange-level latency. Use your trading platform when you need to confirm a quote for an order.
Where does a desk ticker fit?
Beside a home-office monitor, on a study desk, or in a small workspace, DeskTicker gives a short watchlist its own place. Its angled case keeps the touchscreen visible without needing another full-size monitor.
You can mix stocks with cryptocurrency prices on the same device. If you are weighing a small desk display against a wall-mounted LED ticker or a browser dashboard, the stock ticker display guide compares those choices.
